Dates: June7-14 & September 20-27

How to get there
Fly to Athens, then take a quick 30-50 min. flight to Chania, Crete. With up to 5 daily flights from Athens, your journey to the island of Crete is seamless.

Arrival Day
Arrive at Chania airport, where a private transfer takes you to a modern, centrally located hotel, just minutes from the charming old town and the Venetian Harbor. With stunning waterfront views, vibrant cafes, and historic architecture, the harbor is the perfect place to begin your adventure. In the evening, enjoy a welcome drink with your host and fellow participants, setting the tone for an unforgettable week.

Day 1: Nautical Expedition to Uninhabited Islands
Embark on an extraordinary boat adventure with our local captain. Glide across crystal-clear waters to two remote islands. Spot the elusive Kri-Kri goat, unique to Crete, and swim above a sunken WWII aircraft. Then, relax on a secluded beach, where a small tender will bring bags and non-swimmers to shore. Savor a freshly prepared lunch onboard before returning to Chania. In the evening, join our enthusiastic group for a welcome dinner at a traditional taverna with breathtaking views of the Old Harbour’s iconic Egyptian lighthouse.
Day 2: The Art of Natural Soap-Making
Immerse yourself in the ancient craft of soap-making in a picturesque Cretan village. Under the guidance of an expert with over 30 years of experience, you’ll craft your own 600g (21oz) batch of soap using the finest organic ingredients. Set in a tranquil herb garden, this hands-on workshop provides insight into the history, methods, and ethical values of this time-honored tradition. Notes and recipes will be provided for you to continue creating at home.
Day 3: The Pink Lagoon & Sandy Shores of Elafonissi
Journey to Elafonissi, ranked among the world’s top beaches, known for its pink sand and mesmerizing turquoise waters. A scenic private drive through gorges and canyons showcases Crete’s diverse landscapes. Upon arrival, choose between a leisurely hike to the ruins of the Elafonissi lighthouse, surrounded by rare flora, or simply unwind on the sun-drenched shore. We’ll conclude the visit with a delicious late lunch at a local taverna before heading back for a relaxed evening in Chania.
Day 4: A Journey Through Crete’s countryside
Explore Crete’s hidden gems— a day where you will visit a 6th-century healing cave, an award-winning winery, and a 3,000-year-old olive tree. Wander through the aromatic Lefka Ori Mountains, where rosemary, thyme, and lavender scent the air, before indulging in a wine-tasting session at a renowned vineyard. Then, meet Crete’s “Yoda”—one of the oldest olive trees in the world, still bearing fruit. We’ll end the day with an authentic village taverna lunch, famous for its legendary dishes. The evening is yours to explore or unwind.

Day 5: Southern Crete Palm Forest Boat Expedition
Head to Crete’s south coast for a private boat excursion to Preveli Beach, home to one of Europe’s last remaining palm forests. Journeying through lush forests, canyons, and desert-like terrain, you’ll witness Crete’s strikingly diverse landscapes. Our captain will take us to a remote beach accessible only by boat or a steep footpath, where a river meets the Libyan Sea, forming a rare and fragile ecosystem. Swim up the river or relax on the pristine shore before enjoying a delicious seaside lunch.
Day 6: Traditional Village Chef’s Cooking Class No trip to Crete is complete without experiencing its world-famous cuisine. Visit a small, sustainable farm to handpick fresh vegetables and herbs for your hands-on cooking class. In a traditional cottage overlooking the White Mountains, learn to prepare an authentic five-course meal—both vegetarian and non-vegetarian—paired with local wines and spirits. Discover the secrets behind Crete’s unique ingredients, from mountain greens and rare cheeses to the island’s famed olive oil. To celebrate the end of our retreat, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner at a top-rated coastal restaurant, sipping wine as we watch the Cretan sunset.

After a week of sensorial experiences, culture, and unforgettable flavours, we’ll enjoy a final breakfast together before assisting you with your departure. Take home new friendships, cherished memories, and a deep appreciation for the magic of Crete.
